To make it clear, bamboo is not wood but grass, although several features of bamboo are similar to those of wood. As an unique grass, bamboo has higher density and shorter growth period. It is no exaggeration to say that bamboo can be harvested every 4-5 years. There are a total of 1,200 species of bamboo in earth but Taohuajiang Industry selects Moso bamboo especially to make bamboo panel, because its diameter, color, structure, density and strength is the most suitable for making bamboo plywood and  bamboo furniture. 

One interesting fact about moso bamboo is that it can grow about 2-3 feet high in the first 24 hours when sprouting from earth in Spring. The stalk's height and diameter become mature in six months and it can be harvested to make bamboo boards in 4-5 years. 4-5 years old bamboo material has the finest physical and mechanical properties, which is comparable or even superior than high-density hardwood timber. As you might have already know, bamboo stalk is hollow inside and the outer wall is circular. Taohuajiang only uses the outer wall as construction material.
